The Gift of Camp
Greetings,
Providing engaging camp experiences for urban youth is the bridge that will connect people from potentially painful places to their purpose. Sometimes you have to be geographically displaced and uprooted from the norms of your everyday life in order to come alive and see clearly what is possible.
During the summer months, with hours of idle time on their hands, many youth are recruited by older gang members and often fall prey to dangerous activities. We have found that most urban families are overwhelmed at the thought of needing to pay $350 for an experience to escape their hood, have the freedom to embrace nature, hear the voice of God, and be loved by a staff that loves them. We are reminded of the Scripture “He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things?” ~Romans 8:32. This is God’s great pleasure – to bless His children. Emerging HOPE wants to bless His children by alleviating the financial stress for youth to attend camp.
Thus far Emerging HOPE has awarded “65” free summer camp scholarships to urban youth in Kalamazoo County.
Beechpoint Christian Camp
Summer 2016 Video Here's a look at all the fun that we had at camp this summer. Our theme was 'Live by Faith' and we studied the life of Christ. We had a blast learning about Jesus, making new friends, and doing all of the great camp activities!

Hi, Mrs. Pamela and Mr. Curtis, I had a blast at camp Beechpoint we learned new songs we ate good meals. We played games like gaga, drove Go-Carts, played basketball, swam, and scaled the gigantic rock climbing wall. I had so much fun. Thank you for everything!

It was a new experience and they brought home many memories and new friendships from this experience. It is so important to have opportunities for children to grow in their faith, especially as they start to experience new situations which call for spiritual guidance.
